PLEASE DONATE TO THE HAYES JEWELRY COLLECTION AT THE ASPEN HISTORICAL SOCIETY

It happens; sometimes we no longer wear a piece, sometimes we inherit one and it's not really our style, sometimes we need a tax credit!

The Aspen Historical Society has started a collection of special pieces made by our company.

If you have a piece of Significant Craftsmanship.

Or if you have a piece of Historical Significance (such as a ski race trophy, time-period example, etc).

Please consider donating it to the AHS Hayes Co. Collection.

The Tax Credit: Allowable as a gift donation to a registered non-profit (2021 Maximum $15,000)

There is some paperwork required: A Gift of Deed form from the AHS, and a 3rd-party Appraisal.

I will do appraisals free of charge for items made by Jim Hayes or Steven Bates. If it's a piece made by myself (signed Bates) then another person has to do the appraisal (I will furnish a reference or you may have any other jeweler do it).

Appraisal values are made by today's price comparisons, less wear and tear.
That's right: If you bought a piece years ago for $200 and now it sells for $2,000 and is in good condition, you can take the tax credit for the updated amount.
